Parent Teacher Association (PTA)The Andersons Bay School PTA has a long and proud history supporting the school Board, Principal, staff and families. As well as generating valuable income through a variety of fundraising activities, the PTA plays an important role in building the strong sense of community which exists at the school. For example, the PTA holds regular morning teas to welcome new families, organises social events for families and staff and is involved in the beautification of the school by maintaining gardens in key areas.
Fundraising is a necessary function of any PTA. Our PTA organises a variety of fundraising ventures including school fairs, discos, sausage sizzles, sponsored ‘athons and the sale of calendars, entertainment books and so on.
Often the funds raised from these activities are made available for the Board for use towards an agreed project. Most recently the PTA funded the addition of interactive white-boards into every classroom, a project benefitting every child and allowing our school to continue to lead the way in the use of technology in primary schooling. Funds raised by the PTA are also used to purchase classroom resources, sets of reading books, library books, musical instruments, as well as sports uniforms and equipment.
