On Friday the Dunedin Symphony Orchestra visited our school as part of their annual schools’ tour.
The tour group had six orchestra players: Robbie, Lydia, Lorna, Jonty, Frances and Feby
They introduced the children to instruments of the orchestra and explained the four sections of an orchestra: strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion
They taught us a little about the instruments in each section and played lots of tunes for us.
Hannah from Room 8 was very lucky to be chosen to join the orchestra at the end of the concert. She played the guiro percussion instrument with them. Well done Hannah!
