Parents are most welcome to take their child home directly after the event, once they have advised their classroom teacher.

In the event of a postponement, a notification will be placed on the Anderson’s Bay website from 7.30am.

School Interviews

Mid-Year Reports will be sent home with children on Friday, 22 June 2018 prior to the interviews taking place on Tuesday, 26 June 2018.

Up until the end of May 2018 parents of Year 1 – 3 children received written reports and an interview invitation every 20 weeks.  With the end of National Standards and with community consultation, all Year 1 – 6 children will now receive two reports a year Term 2 and Term 4.  For 2018 while the Year 1 – 3 children are moved over to this new schedule, if you have already received a report this year you will not receive another report on Friday, 22 June 2018.

Parent/Teacher interim interviews for Year 1 – 6 are scheduled for Tuesday, 26 June beginning at 2pm.  These interviews are an important opportunity for parents and teachers to meet to discuss your child’s progress.  If you have recently had a Year 1 -3 interview it will not be necessary for you to attend.

We will be using a secure, web-based service, which allows parents to book an exact interview time using any computer connected to the internet.

Bookings for interviews will be open from Tuesday 12 June, and can be made at the website using the school code 2ty7w Although the vast majority of parents will be able to access the web from a home computer, a friend’s computer or a workplace computer parents may telephone or call into the office over the next week to arrange bookings through the school office

Children will remain at school on the Tuesday until the normal time of 3pm.  You may bring your child to the interview.

NZEI Meeting

The New Zealand Educational Institute has called a paid union meeting for all teachers on Thursday 28th June, starting at 1:00 pm.  It is expected that all teachers from our school attend in order to discuss NZEI claims and negotiations.   Therefore, it is necessary for us to call on the support of our community and request that children be picked up from school at 12:30 pm.

If you are unable to pick your child up at that time please send a written note to school by Monday the 25th of June.  To meet the school’s health and safety regulations we need to know the number of children who cannot be uplifted and would remain at school.

Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

School Production

The School Production team require a large magnifying glass to use as a prop on production night. If anyone has one at home can you please send it along to Room 3.

PTA News

PTA News:

The PTA have an important role in the function and resourcing of the school.  They have worked tirelessly to support many initiatives within the school, such as the environmental garden, playscape development, Discovery Friday, games in classrooms, technology purchases and the School Fair - among others. They would like to extend an invitation to all parents to join their meetings and the organisation. They assure all prospective members not to be put off by the thought of highly demanding tasks: parents contribute only as their time and means permit and new parents are supported by current PTA members to help with events.

Forthcoming PTA events:

  • Mufti Day - Friday, 6 July 2018.  Gold Coin Donation
  • School Disco -  Friday 10th of August.  Extra parent helpers for this event would be appreciated.
  • Quiz Night - Monday evening - exact date to be advised.  Any offers of help/support gratefully received.
  • Kids’ Market: this will be held again in term 4.
