From Year 0-6 we aim to provide opportunities for children to gain experiences in areas outside of the classroom. We operate a variety of school trips centred around our teaching programmes. In addition to these experiences Year 5 students participate in an Outdoor Education Week which includes an overnight stay at the Otago Museum. Year 6 students spend a week experiencing various outdoor activities at a school camp. A wide range of sporting and athletic activities are offered at Anderson's Bay School. These are proudly coached and supported by staff and parents.
The children at Anderson's Bay School enjoy opportunities to participate in a unique Environmental Education programme. It is not uncommon to find a large number of children cultivating and harvesting our environmental school garden, sampling the produce or selling it to our community, to raise funds for the next crop.
Fresh eggs are often enjoyed by members of our school community, compliments of our five school hens.
There are not many gardening patches with a view as spectacular as the Anderson's Bay School Environmental garden.
